3 of our Greenon FFA students got the opportunity to attend the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference. We got to hear from the Ohio Farm Bureau who gave us a refresher about legislation and lobbying. They also led an interactive simulation for all the students in attendance about lobbying and voting. This allowed for students to work on these skills in a controlled environment and advocate for what we believe in. They also got to hear from state representative Don Jones. He talked to the students about the importance of making a change, advocating for ourselves, and how you have to advertise yourself. He also informed students of how agriculture and FFA connect to the government. The students then had time to speak with their district representatives if they were available and explore the state house.
