The Greenon Local School District Board of Education is taking steps to address the district’s growing needs by proposing a new levy for the May 6, 2025, special election. At the next board meeting, the Board will vote on placing a 2.78-mill, 5-year permanent improvement levy on the ballot.
The proposed levy reflects feedback from staff and community members, expanding its scope to include additional district improvements. If approved, the levy will fund the following projects:
Finishing the "white space" in the K-6 Greenon Elementary building
Construction of a new transportation facility
Construction of a multipurpose facility at the current athletic complex
Additional enhancements include:
An updated weight room
Dedicated athletic practice fields
Repair of the track at the athletic complex
This levy would generate approximately $1,042,873 annually for five years. For taxpayers, the cost would be about $8.08 per month per $100,000 in appraised property valuation, as determined by the Clark County Auditor's Office.
