The Greenon Local School District Communications Department plays a crucial role in fostering support for the goals and mission of the district through effective communication with students, families, and the community. The communications department is the primary link for informing parents and community members about the latest school news and events, acts as the primary point of contact for the media, and serves as the communications center during emergencies and crises.

The department strives to develop strong relationships and communications that serve the Greenon Knights school community by actively collaborating with parents and community groups. Greenon Local Communications is committed to promptly, consistently, and transparently providing all stakeholders with access to the information they need.

A Message from our Communications Department

Dear Greenon Local Schools Community,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the Communications and Community Relations Coordinator for Greenon Local Schools. My name is Vana Beekman, and I graduated from Ohio State University in 2010 with a degree in Human Resource Management. Subsequently, I earned a Master's in Business Administration in 2012.

As someone passionate about effective communication and community engagement, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of Greenon Local Schools. In this role, one of my primary goals is to showcase the remarkable achievements of our students, staff, schools, and the district as a whole—I am here to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments within our community!

Greenon Local Schools is making it easier to stay in touch with district communication from that same app. Using the Greenon Local Schools app, you can easily switch from district and school information to Rooms. You can chat with teachers (through Rooms) and access all district wide information—from dining menus, to events to announcements and more—through one app.

Rooms offers secure, two-way messaging between families and their child’s school. Teachers can send announcements and messages to parents, guardians, and students. And guardians can message teachers and staff.

Plus, Rooms exist within your district app, which means you don’t have to download an additional app to keep up with your child’s educational journey!
