This is the first OHC Title for the Women’s team since joining the conference.
The Greenon Knights capped off an undefeated regular season and conference season with a 5-2 win on October 14 over the Greeneview Rams.
"The women’s soccer team has made it a priority to train at a pace that’s uncomfortable," said Varsity Head Coach Jamie Minteer. "That discipline has helped shape and form this team. When the coaches feel the team has exhausted their energy, and their bodies are sore, that’s when this team does a little more. We call it mental toughness and believe it’s played a key role in their success this season. We’re incredibly proud of our ladies and looking forward to an equally exciting tournament. "
In the first round of tournaments, the Knights beat National Trail 6-0 to move to Round Two. A 6-0 win over Yellow Springs on October 21 advanced the team to Round 3.
The Knights also extended their record for most goals scored in a season to 116, earning 15th overall in the OHSAA record books.
Congratulations on a phenomenal season!
