Greenon Local Schools honored veterans November 10 through programs and Honor Flight donations.Greenon students and staff honored the service and sacrifice of our brave servicemen and women November 10 through programs and donations to Honor Flight.

Greenon Junior/Senior High School hosted the annual Veterans Day program for the community on Friday, November 10, at Greenon Junior/Senior High School. Veteran Mr. Mark Striebich, a member of the Greenon faculty, served as the keynote speaker. Attendees will experience the Honor Guard ceremony and enjoy anthems for each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces performed by the Greenon Jr/Sr High School band. Greenon Volleyball presented a check to Honor Flight Dayton for more than $3,000, from proceeds raised through the team's Volley for Vets event.

At Enon Primary School, preschool through 1st grade students raised $300 to donate to Honor Flight Dayton and hosted a small Veterans Day program at the school, followed by breakfast for the guests.

Indian Valley students and staff participated in a change drive to raise money for Honor Flight Dayton, to help pay for trips to Washington D.C. for veterans to see their memorial. The school raised $1,200 to donate to Honor Flight.
